So many of us have.

What is it exactly that intrigues us about joining startups compared to established companies?

Well, let’s face it…the promise of untold riches and IPO’s for joining the rocket ship early can be quite enticing. However, and I speak from personal experience having made that leap 3 times, it’s doesn’t always end up that way.

So how do we make sure that we are making the right decision to join a start up?

Fortunately there is a simple way to help us make informed decisions.

• Set up a 30 min. meeting with the founder for a lens into the true culture and direction of the company

  • Founders have a huge impact on their companies. They are a part of the culture, character, messaging, vision, and so much more

• Ask the founder these 2 questions

  • What does the business solve for their ideal customer profile (ICP)?

  • How do they do it differently and why would a security leader care about that?
