3 ways sales teams can improve by applying ancient philosophy

We need to close this deal, we need to close this deal sooner, we need to find qualified prospects, we need to make our number, we need to hire the right people....Let's face it, the pressures we face in our industry can be hard. And perhaps applying ancient philosophies can help all of us manage these pressures effectively and help our teams stay on the path to success.Check out these 3 principles and practical ways on how we can help our teams apply them to their lives.

  1. Hinduism

    1. Belief: you can't have one thing without the other. Every high has a low, good/evil, dark, light

    2. How to apply: if you have team members going through a low, provide encouragement and remind them it's not forever. Keep moving. There will be a high.

  2. Zen

    1. Belief: we all have what we need within us in order to be successful. Often it's not about learning more, it's about finding those answers we always had.

    2. How to apply: in coaching situations, don't give all the answers. Challengethemto find the answers they already have.

  3. Stoicism:

    1. Belief: there is so much going on around us and most of it, we don't have control over. Stoicism practices only working on things within your control and cutting out all the other 'noise'.

    2. How to apply: help your team focus on their own actions. Let's say they are trying to close a deal...ultimately they can't control their prospect's actions. But they can control what they do to help make a deal happen. For example, they decide if they follow up to help drive the deal forward. From there, they move on to the next step to close the deal.

Try applying one of these principles and let me know how it goes! ([email protected])
